Material Trading Guide
Tradable materials
Materials are traded at the Common grade. They do not use the Magic/Rare/Legendary grade split that equipment does. Consumable materials gathered through hunting and farming — such as Diablo IV’s boss summoning materials — are the main trade target, and since they have no options (affixes), quantity is the core of the trade.
When listing, you pick which material it is and then enter your stock amount and price. Even for the same material, trades differ by bundle size, so clearly stating your stock amount and the price basis (per unit or per bundle) makes trades faster.
Quantity-based trading
Materials are traded by quantity. You can enter the price as a single total, or per unit; with a per-unit price, the per-unit price times the count becomes the total. The total cannot exceed the in-game gold cap (999,999,999,999 gold), and the maximum stack size is 9,999. If you exceed a limit, the input is clamped automatically.
Setting the quantity range you need as a search condition helps you quickly find listings with the volume you want. If you need a large amount at once, you may have to split the trade across several listings, so it is better not to set the quantity range too narrowly.
Prices and seasons
Early in a season, demand for boss materials rises sharply and prices fluctuate often. When a new season starts, many players run bosses at the same time, so a given material can become scarce or oversupplied. We recommend checking recent listing prices via search before trading and settling on a reasonable price.
